Since age 13, I have been using the internet to connect, converse, play, and communicate with people around the globe. My web design experiences first started with the now-defunct site, Homestead, which allowed you to create web pages on the fly. My first web page was a fansite for a computer game called Age of Empires. I remember my parents were rather curious why their 13-year-old was printing off hundreds of pages saying "HTML Tutorial." I was active enough on forums for the game's community that I became a forum moderator at age 14. I picked up responsibilites for managing a gaming group's website along the way.
Along the way, I have learned quite a bit about how groups of people communicate across the web -- I am and I have been a part of these groups. I thoroughly enjoy sitting over my computer and watching pieces of code come together to produce something greater than the sum of its parts. I enjoy the web. |
